Today I am posting some astrophotography images.
Last evening, my camera was sitting in the kitchen and as I was about to put it away in my office when I peeked out the kitchen window and saw the Waxing Gibbous moon shining bright. I decided to seize the opportunity to grab a few images before putting the camera away.
Before shooting the moon though, I saw that both Jupiter and Saturn we trailing in the evening sky right behind the moon.
I'm fascinated with these 2 planets, i think with Jupiter because of the ability to capture the horizontal gaseous brown bands around it's belly and sometimes even the Great Red Spot with just my camera gear. I've also been able to capture up to 3 of it's 79 known moons just with a camera lens in the light polluted confines of my New England back yard.
I'm also keen on Saturn since I first saw the rings through my Aunt Loretta's telescope back in the early 1980's.
Here are a few images of Jupiter and Saturn respectively. Look for the 2 faint moons around Jupiter.
